
Brandice Canes-Wrone
Professor of Political Science, Stanford University
Brandice Canes-Wrone is a professor of political science and the Maurice R. Greenberg Senior Fellow in the Hoover Institution. She is also the Faculty Director of the Center for Revitalizing American Institutions (RAI) and a courtesy professor of political economy in the Graduate School of Business. Throughout her career, Canes-Wrone has published extensively in the areas of political institutions, elections, mass political behavior, and political economy, including books with University of Chicago and Cambridge University presses and scores of articles in the leading journals of political science. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, she has served on the boards of the American National Elections Studies, the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse, and the Presidents and Executive Politics Section of the American Political Science Association. As a part of her scholarly commitment, she has been active in promoting academic freedom and rewarding those willing to stand up for this principle, including by helping to found the Academic Freedom Alliance and as a founding board member of the American Academy of Sciences and Letters. Prior to joining the Stanford faculty, Canes-Wrone was on the faculties of MIT, Northwestern, and Princeton.
